2. What information do we collect?

You may visit our site anonymously although cookies are used to identify your session.

2.1. Contact form data

If you choose to use the inquiry form on our website, basic contact details are collected such as the email and name of the contact person

2.2. Account data

When you register for an account, we collect and store your e-mail address.

2.3. Membership data

In order to issue an invoice for paid services, we also need to collect additional contact details about you or your business, such as full name, email, contact address, business name, and business activity. We do not collect or store your credit card information. All payments are collected using PayPal, therefore we also store PayPal transaction ID.

2.4. Cookie-Script item data

When you create or edit Cookie-Script item, we collect your direct input, which is a website domain name for use of Cookie-Script service (the “Service”) and possible content and settings for cookie policy pop-up notification box (the “Pop-up”) display on the website visitor (“End Users”).

2.5. End User data

End-User data can be collected only if you have a proper subscription to the Cookie-Script website. If enabled, Service can automatically log the following data about End Users:

  • An anonymous and random key (the “Key”);
  • End User’s choice (accept or reject);
  • Anonymized End User’s IP address (last digits after “.” are set to 0);
  • Date and time of End User’s agreement/rejection;
  • The page where consent was given/revoked;
  • End User’s browser agent.

The Key together with the Consent state are saved in the End User’s browser as a first-party cookie called “CookieScriptConsent” in JSON encrypted form. This information is later used by the Service to remember the End User’s choice. The Key can also be used as proof of the End User’s consent.

2.6. Automatically generated data

The service automatically generates statistical data (if enabled in settings for Cookie-Script Item) which is the number of clicks on each button of the Pop-up. This data is aggregated (clicks per day) and cannot be used to identify a particular End User.

3. What do we use your information for?

Any of the information we collect may be used for one or more of the following purposes:

  • To answer your inquiry;
  • To contact you regarding our services;
  • To identify you as a contracting party;
  • To enable Cookie-Script to issue valid invoices and to process transactions;
  • To enable secure login for you in the Service;
  • To enable automated subscription handling;
  • To provide you with automatically generated information on the End User clicks on the Pop-up buttons.

4. Legal basis

4.1. EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The processing of your data is either based on your consent or in case the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party, or in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, cf. GDPR art. 6(1)(a)-(b).

4.2. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

Cookie-Script is in compliance with the requirements of GDPR 2018. We will not intentionally collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website and services are directed at people who are at least 13 years old or older.

5. How do we protect your information?

Cookie-Script does not store any personally identifiable information about you online or using cloud storage unless those organizations comply with GDPR. DigitalOcean, LLC and Amazon Web Services, Inc. are two such organizations.

5.1. Confidentiality

All data is protected by password access. We do not request or keep financial information such as your bank account details. All personnel and subcontractors are required to sign a confidentiality agreement if full confidentiality is not part of the main agreement between the parties.

5.2. Transparency

Cookie-Script will keep you informed about changes to the processes to protect data privacy and security, including practices and policies. You may at any time request information on where and how data is stored, secured, and used.

5.3. Monitoring

Cookie-Script uses different internal and external monitoring tools to ensure high system performance and availability.

5.4. Personal Data breach notification

In the event that your data is compromised, Cookie-Script will notify you and the ICO within 72 hours by email with information about the extent of the breach, affected data, any impact on the Service, and our action plan for measures to secure the data and limit any possible detrimental effect on the data subjects.

"Personal Data Breach" means a breach of security leading to the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or access to, personal data transmitted, stored, or otherwise processed in connection with the provision of the service.

6. How we use cookies

Cookie-Script may place a "cookie" in the browser files of your computer. This cookie does not collect information that personally identifies you as an individual (other than your Internet protocol address), but merely allows us to recognize your repeated visits to We use our cookie collected information to make your visit more enjoyable. Cookies are also used to remember your session and keep you logged into your account. If you want to disable cookies, there is a simple procedure in most Internet browsers that allows you to turn off or delete cookies, but please remember that cookies may be required to allow you to use certain features of Cookie-Script.

7. Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

Cookie-Script does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties any personally identifiable information.

This does not include trusted third parties or subcontractors who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you. Such trusted parties may have access to personally identifiable information on a need-to-know basis and will be contractually obliged to keep your information confidential.

We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect our or others’ rights, property, or safety.

  • Amazon Web Services, Inc.
  • PayPal Pte. Ltd.

Both companies have implemented all necessary standards to comply with GDPR.

7.2. Legally required disclosure

Cookie-Script will not disclose the customer’s data to law enforcement except when instructed by you or where it is required by law. When governments make a lawful demand for customer data from Cookie-Script, we strive to limit the disclosure. Cookie-Script will only release specific data mandated by the relevant legal demand.

If compelled to disclose your data, Cookie-Script will promptly notify you and provide a copy of the demand unless legally prohibited from doing so.

8. Third-party services

You may access other third-party services through the Services, for example by clicking on links to those third-party services from within the Services. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices of these third-party services, and we encourage you to carefully review their privacy policies.

​9. Where do we store the information?

No stored data will be transferred, backed up, and/or recovered by Cookie-Script outside of the European Union. Cookie-Script also requires its subcontractors and subprocessors to either store data in the European Union, or to adhere to the EU-US Privacy Shield.

9.1. Personal data location

All data and databases are stored on Cookie-Script’s vendor, DigitalOcean, LLC in Amsterdam. Databases and files are continuously backed up to enable restoration to any point in time within a retention period of 30 days. Backups are stored on file storage at the same geographical location as the database.

10. Data access

If you are a registered user, you may access information associated with your Account by logging into our Services.

You may at any time obtain confirmation from Cookie-Script as to whether or not personal data concerning you is being processed.

On your Account Page, you can at any time export a data copy, which you may transmit to another controller of the data.

11. Request for rectification, restriction, or erasure of the personal data

11.1. Rectification

You may at any time obtain rectification of inaccurate personal data about you.

11.2. Restriction of processing personal data

You may at any time request Cookie-Script to restrict the processing of personal data when one of the following applies:

  • if you contest the accuracy of the personal data, for a period enabling Cookie-Script to verify the accuracy of the personal data;
  • if the processing is unlawful and you oppose the erasure of the personal data and request the restriction of their use instead; or
  • if Cookie-Script no longer needs the personal data for the purposes of the processing, but they are required by you for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.

11.3. Erasure

You may without undue delay request the erasure of personal data concerning you, and Cookie-Script shall erase the personal data without undue delay when one of the following applies:

  • if the personal data are no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed;
  • if you withdraw your consent on which the processing is based, and where there is no other legal ground for the processing;
  • if the personal data have been unlawfully processed; or
  • if the personal data have to be erased for compliance with a legal obligation in EU or national law.

You can also remove your account data yourself on the Account Page. If you have any Membership data associated with your account, it will not be removed automatically when deleting Account data by you.

12. Data retention

12.1. Data retention policy

Membership data will due to tax regulations be retained for up to three fiscal years from the cancellation of your Service account.

End-User Data and Account data will be erased immediately when you cancel the Service account.

12.2. Data retention for compliance with legal requirements

You cannot require Cookie-Script to change any of the default retention periods, except for the reasons linked to compliance with specific laws and regulations.

13. Your consent

By using our site and/or our Service, you consent to this Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to our Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be modified from time to time, so please review it frequently. If we materially change the ways in which we use or share personal information previously collected from you through our Service, we will notify you through our Service.

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Services. These Terms of Service (collectively, with Cookie-Script's Privacy Policy, located at apply to all users of the Services. If you are using the Services on behalf of an entity, organization, or company, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind such organization to these Terms of Service and you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service on behalf of such organization.

Buying or using Cookie-Script products or services implies that the user/customer has both read and accepted these Terms of Service. This is also indicated by a mandatory checkbox/dropdown during registration/purchase of membership. Cookie-Script reserves the right to change or modify current Terms of Service without prior notice.

2. The Services

Cookie-Script Services allow you to display a pop-up notification box(the “Pop-up”), that can be used on your website for different purposes. It may be used to inform your website visitors (“End Users”) about your website Privacy Policy and Cookie usage.

Cookie-Script is only the service provider and it is your own responsibility to ensure correct settings and implementation of Cookie-Script is used on your website in case you use it to comply with a certain law, regulation, or directive, including but not limited to EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and EU’s ePrivacy Directive.

Cookie-Script offers a set of options for the Pop-up, which is constantly updating to ensure Services cover as much customer needs as possible.

Cookie-Script organizes server resources in a way to provide a high level of service with at least 99.9% uptime on the operation of the cloud service, both website and scripts hosting.

3. Membership subscriptions

Purchasing a membership will give you access to additional Cookie-Script functionality and premium support. All functionality you get is described on Pricing Page. By purchasing a paid membership, you agree that:

  • There is no warranty or in any other way any form of liability on the side of Cookie-Script.
  • Cookie-Script reserves the right to offer discounts or permanent price changes at any moment, without prior notice.

The account that purchased the membership, cannot be shared. Sharing or other methods that allow for multiple users to access the same account are strictly forbidden and may result in termination of the account and support.

3.1. Free membership

Free Membership users are not allowed to download or modify JavaScript files used to show cookie pop-up warning messages. Violation of those rules may result in termination of the account and support that comes with Free Membership.

Free Membership user’s Pop-up displays a copyright text with a link to which is not allowed to be removed. Trying to modify source code and remove links to may result in termination of account and free support.

3.2. Paid memberships

Users that have purchased functionality to self-host JavaScript files are allowed to download/modify/publish JavaScript files that are used to show cookie pop-up warning message to fit the user's purposes without any prior notice.

Paid Membership users can also download un-minified JavaScript files, which gives them full control over Cookie-Script JavaScript code.

Paid Membership duration, price, and other limitations are described on the Pricing page and can be modified without prior notice.

Your Paid Membership limitations and functionality is locked to your account during purchase and will not be changed later during the membership period. After the membership period finishes and needs to be renewed, the latest limitations and prices from the Pricing page will be applied to your membership.

Cookie-Script feature limitation policy is targeted to keep all the existing functionality user currently has and only include more functionality with every update.

3. Payments

Payments may be completed through the PayPal or Stripe payment system. We do not store or share any personal information associated with a payment (like Credit Card number, owner, or expiration date). Some information available in PayPal and Stripe is stored on PayPal/Stripe as part of the transaction history.

If the Paid Membership period is limited, a periodic payment will be automatically created in PayPal/Stripe to extend your membership when the initial membership period is over. You can cancel this automatic periodic payment directly in PayPal or in your Cookie-Script account.

The exact price to be charged is calculated automatically using prices from the Pricing page and provided billing information.

The final charge, including all taxes, will be displayed before the order is made. The amount of VAT, which may be added to the charge, is 21% of the total billing amount and will be added depending on the location and legal entity of the purchaser. According to the European Union Council Directive 2006/112/EC, 21% VAT will be added if the purchaser

  • is from Lithuania
  • is from within the European Union and does not have a European VAT ID

Once payment is complete, you will receive a VAT Invoice with Cookie-Script company details.

4. Disclaimer

While Cookie-Script makes every effort to ensure that the content of this website is accurate, the website is provided 'as is' and Cookie-Script makes no representations or warranties in relation to the accuracy or completeness of the information found on it. While the content of is provided with the utmost care and attention, we do not warrant that the information will always be up to date, be true and not misleading, or that this site will always (or ever) be available for use. This also includes any legal information related to cookie usage on websites.

We do not warrant that the servers that make this website available will be an error, virus, or bug-free and you accept that it is your responsibility to make adequate provision for protection against such threats. We recommend scanning any files before downloading them.

In no event shall the juridical person of Cookie-Script be liable for any damages including, but not limited to, direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages or other losses arising out of the use of or inability to use Cookie-Script products or services.

We cannot guarantee that our products or services will function with all websites since some website creation services do not allow external JavaScript files to be included. This might result in incorrect functionality of Cookie-Script.

Cookie-Script is not responsible for any fines users might get for not following the EU e-Privacy Directive, EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), or any other laws, directives, or regulations. It is the user's own responsibility to make sure his website is compliant with the EU e-Privacy Directive and EU General Data Protection Regulation. Cookie-Script is designed to provide necessary technical means for adding cookie Pop-up messages on user websites and clear cookies before user consent (if possible). It is also the user's own responsibility to make a GDPR compliant Privacy policy and Cookie Policy.

Though we cannot control all the sites or customers that use Cookie-Script, we do not support or allow for use of our products or services on adult or gambling sites or sites with illegal content.

6. Limitation of Liability for Loss or Damage

In conjunction with the Disclaimer and Warranty as explained above, you expressly understand and agree that any claim against us shall be limited to the amount you paid, if any, for use of services. Cookie-Script will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or exemplary loss or damage which may be incurred by you as a result of using our services, or as a result of any changes, data loss or corruption, cancellation, loss of access, or downtime to the full extent that applicable limitation of liability laws apply.

7. Support

All Cookie-Script users are eligible for free support provided by email. Support can be contacted using a Contact Form or using a Support Form on the account page.  In case of many support requests, additional Chat Support will be available on all pages.

While Cookie-Script makes every effort to ensure high quality and fast support, sometimes it can take up to 72 hours to get a reply from Cookie-Script Support. Most times during the day user can expect an answer from Cookie-Script Support within a few hours.

In case of any bugs/errors found by users, Cookie-Script Support makes all efforts to fix those errors/bugs.

Cookie-Script reserves the right to limit or cancel support in the following situations:

  • unreasonable behavior by the client; such as bad language, racism, etc.;
  • continued/repeating (server) issues that cannot (or should not) be resolved by Cookie-Script;
  • the client is not cooperative in providing additional details on the issues raised.

8. Refund policy

Cookie-Script offers a full money-back guarantee for a period of 7 days after purchase. In case of a refund, the user’s account will be completely deleted.

Users have the possibility to try the free Cookie-Script version and see if it works correctly on the user's website.

Free Membership users can also get Paid Membership for a limited time to test all Paid Membership features and compatibility with their website.

In order to get a refund, the user must:

  • contact Cookie-Script Support and explain a reason for a refund;
  • give Cookie-Script Support a possibility to fix a bug/error if the bug/error is the reason for a refund.

In case a bug/error is related to Cookie-Script, Cookie-Script Support cannot fix the bug/error and the user met all requirements above, the user can ask for a full refund (excluding possible transaction costs).

9. Termination

We have the right to terminate your access to any or all of our products and services at any time, without notice, for any reason, including without limitation, breach of these Terms of Service. We may also at any time, at our sole discretion, discontinue the products, website or services or any part thereof without prior notice and you agree that we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any termination of your access to the products, website or services.

10. Copyright & ownership

The customer may not claim intellectual or exclusive ownership to any Cookie-Script products, modified or unmodified. All products are and remain the property of Cookie-Script except where the ownership clearly lies with other parties (such as for third-party libraries). Cookie-Script respects the intellectual property of others. If you believe that your work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please contact us about the matter.
